400 Series UV-Vis Spectrophotometer
Calibration Service

Periodic spectrophotometer performance verification is an essential component of laboratory quality assurance. Proper performance validation is critical for documenting quality control and ensuring data integrity

S. I. Photonics is pleased to offer Calibration Verification Service for all 400 Series Instruments. UV-Vis instrument performance is documented through the analysis of several NIST traceable reference materials. Your spectrophotometer will be evaluated in the following areas of performance.

Wavelength Accuracy - NIST traceable holmium oxide reference materials are used to assess the wavelength accuracy of your UV-Vis spectrophotometer for the wavelength range from 240 nm - 650 nm.

Spectral Resolution - used to assess the spectral bandwidth and resolution of your UV-Vis instrument by measuring the ability to resolve absorption bands separated by small differences in wavelength.

Stray Light - various NIST traceable reference materials having sharp cutoffs in transmission at specified wavelengths are used to assess the detection of stray light in the UV region.

Photometric Accuracy - used to assess the absorbance and transmission accuracy of your UV-Vis instrument as determined through the analysis of NIST traceable reference standards. Neutral density filters are used for the evaluation of wavelengths from 440 nm - 635 nm and potassium dichromate reference standards are used for the wavelength range from 235 nm - 350 nm.

Baseline Stability - Every spectrophotometer is evaluated for both short and long term stability and drift. Instruments are evaluated for a full twelve hour acquisition cycle with measurements acquired at repeating intervals. The resulting data is then evaluated for absorbance drift.
